This interview was with Halifax on August 6, 2006 at Warped Tour in Englishtown, New Jersey.

1. Introduce who you are and tell what you do in the band.

I'm Tommy and I play drums. I'm Mike and I am the singer. I'm Adam and I play guitar. I'm Doug and I play bass.

-Chris randomly shows up-

I'm Chris and I play guitar.

2. You guys are usually known for being crazy and getting drunk. Does this ever effect your performances? Do you like having that kind of reputation?

-laughs-

Mike : They're both maybes. We don't usually get drunk that much before we play. Our performance is important to us. As far as liking that reputation goes, ( everyone: yeah) yes slash dont really care.

3. A lot of people think you're sound has changed from when the EP was released. What made "The Inevitability Of A Strange World" different than any previous stuff you've recorded?

Mike: I think the fact that we recorded it a couple years later. We kind of grew up, we've been touring, that will definitely change anyone when it comes to music, you know. Your taste in music changes and you want to write.

4. Is there anyone that you wanted to work with or do a collaboration with?

Tommy: There was a time when we were going to have Vinny from I am the Avalanche on some tracks but he was in Seattle recording their record and we were recording so it didn't work out.

5. What usually goes into writing a Halifax song & album?

Chris: -laughs- blood, sweat and tears, I dont know.

Mike : A couple ideas, a couple days of band practice.

-Anything that influences your writing?

Chris : Lately it's just been like classical rock like Guns and Roses or something from the 80's.

6. What song means the most to you off the record, and why?

Chris: I like 'Snow In Hollywood.'

Adam : As far as meanings go, I dont think there's a song that stands out more than the rest.

Mike : I like 'Murder I Wrote' because we got to collaborate with a really great musician on it.

Doug : I like the whole cd.

7. Were you excited to be a part of this years warped tour?

Tommy: Yeah, very excited.

Mike : Yeah, very much so. It's been awesome so far. The reactions have been great.

8. Where are some of your favorite places to play a show and hang out, besides your hometown?

Doug: New york and New Jersey.

Mike : I always have a great time playing Minneapolis because their shows are always awesome.

9. You're starting to get more plays on your myspace and purevolume pages. What do you think caused the big boost for your band?

Tommy: Constant touring, our record being out and just promotion.

Mike : Once the record came out I think that's when it started jumping because we had new music for everyone to listen to

10. Playing in a band, you have to set at least one goal at where you want to be. What are your goals?

Mike: I have personally set a bunch of different goals. It's kind of a really good feeling when you achieve some. Like at first when I started being in a band my goal was to play a show and see the kids singing the words to the songs. Now, that happens every day. We recently acheived our goal of being on a first ever American tour bus.

Adam : We got to go to Japan, which is something I've always wanted to do.

11. Any music that you're currently listening to that you think everyone should check out?

Mike: Dave Matthews.

Adam : The Raconteurs, Jack White's new band.

12. Being on tour, some pretty crazy things tend to happen. What's the craziest thing that you guys have seen or done?

Tommy: Having our new bass player in the band.

Mike : No, no -laughs- I think having our old bass player was the craziest.

13. Share with us something interesting, random, or outrageous that no one would know about the guys in Halifax.

Mike: I listen to Dave Matthews. -laughs-

Tommy : I'm a neat freak

Adam : We don't really have many secrets

14. I read in a previous interview that Mike did with absolutepunk.net. He mentioned that if anyone was ever feeling depressed or suicidal that you could talk to Halifax. Has anyone ever come to you for help in this category? How do you handle things like that?

Mike: Yeah. I just talk to them as i would anyone else. I've had a few emails and for some random reason kids have gotten my number and called. At shows kids have sometimes come up to me and said theyre going through this really bad depression. It's not really what I have to say but really just listening to them. Sometimes getting it out helps, you know.

I want to thank Halifax for answering these questions. It was really fun and they are awesome guys. If you dont already own it, go buy their latest record "The Inevitability Of A Strange World."
